How to Install MBR Color Corrector 3

Installation for Windows

  1. Make sure you are not running After Effects or Premiere Pro or Media Encoder.
  2. Copy the MBR_Color_Corrector_3.aex file into the correct directory. Usually this directory is one of the following:
    • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS5\MediaCore\
    • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS5.5\MediaCore\
    • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\CS6\MediaCore\
    • C:\Program Files\Adobe\Common\Plug-ins\7.0\MediaCore\
  3. MBR Color Corrector 3 will now be available for use when you next start After Effects or Premiere Pro.
  4. Before you can use the full version of the effect for the first time you must activate it. Simply click on the Options... button after applying the effect and enter your serial number.

Installation for Macintosh

  1. Make sure you are not running After Effects or Premiere Pro or Media Encoder.
  2. Use Finder to copy MBR Color Corrector 3.plugin into the correct directory. Usually this directory is one of the following:
    • /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS5/MediaCore/
    • /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS5.5/MediaCore/
    • /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/CS6/MediaCore/
    • /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/Plug-ins/7.0/MediaCore/
  3. MBR Color Corrector 3 will now be available for use when you next start After Effects or Premiere Pro.

Why no Proper Installation Program?

My experience has been that installation programs for video effects (for Adobe hosts) don't always find the correct place to install themselves.

Supported Video Editing/Effects Hosts

MBR Color Corrector 2 and 3 have been tested in the following host programs: Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe Media Encoder versions CS5, CS5.5, CS6, CC, CC2014, CC2015, CC2017, CC2018, CC2019 and CC2020 for Windows and Macintosh.

Why does the effect turn my footage black and white?

You haven't activated the plugin yet. Just click on the Options... button and enter your serial number.
